The A.U.D.I.T. Method
Find 5 hours a week before you add another tool.
You don't have an AI problem. You have a delegation problem.
Your week is full of small jobs that only live in your head. Twenty minutes here, twenty minutes there. It adds up to hours.
And you can't hand a job to anyone, a person or AI, until it's written down. Most people skip that part. They sign up for a tool and give up by Thursday.
The A.U.D.I.T. Method starts by writing it down. It's the five steps I use to find 5 to 10 hours a week in a small business. I ran it on my own business first. Now I run it with clients.
What is the A.U.D.I.T. Method?
The A.U.D.I.T. Method is a five-step framework created by Krista Recker for finding where AI can give a small business owner time back. The steps are Ask how the week actually goes, Uncover the time-eaters, Design the simple version, Install the system, and Track the hours back. It starts with how the week runs, and picks tools last.
Tools are the last step, not the first.
Think of your week like a junk drawer. You wouldn't buy drawer organizers before you dumped it out and looked at what's in there. Tools are the organizers. Ask and Uncover are the dumping out.
The five steps
- Ask how the week actually goes.
- Uncover the time-eaters.
- Design the simple version.
- Install the system.
- Track the hours back.
You can start without me.
Open your notes app and answer these about last week. Use last week, not a typical week, because last week is what happened and a typical week is a guess.
- What did you do more than twice?
- What did you put off until Sunday night?
- What did you redo because nobody else knows how?
- What did you copy and paste from somewhere else?
- Which one of those would you pay to never do again?
